RULES:

1.  All dogs must be on a leash at all times.  Please keep them away from the arena.
2.  Contestents will enter according to their respective age group.
3.  A horse may be entered only once in each age group.  A rider may enter as many times as they choose as long as  he/she changes horses.
4.  Stallions permitted in adult classes only.
5.  The committee reserves the right to reject or dismiss an entry at any time for disrespect of the rules, intoxication, rough trreatment of animals or other unruly behavior they deem unacceptable.
6.  The show or its representatives will not be responsible for any accidents that may occur to any horse or equipment exhibited at the O-Mok-See.  Exhibitors shall indemnify the show against all claims, demands, costs, charges and expenses which it may incur by reason of any accident, injury or damages to persons or property which may be caused by their horses at any time or place upon the grounds.

ENTRY FEES:

$5.00 fee per class  up to 3 (three) classes.
$25.00 fee per person - for all events.
$50.00 fee per family - for all events.

Pole Bending:

Pattern includes 6 poles placed in a line.  A horse may start either to the right or to the left of the first pole and run the remainder of the pattern accordingly.  A five second penalty is added per pole knocked down.  Breaking pattern or crossing the center line receives "no time."

    Classes:  Under 12
                       12 - 15
                       16 and over


Stake Race:

Pattern is run abound two poles placed in a line.  A five second penalty is added per pole knocked down.  Breaking pattern or crossing the center line receives "no time."

    Classes:  Under 6
                        7 - 11
                      12 - 15
                       16 and over

Ribbon Race

Two riders ride a pattern around a barrel while holding a piece of crepe paper between them.  Must have a partner to enter, both pay an entry fee.  Depending on the number of entries a rider may  move up an age group if desired, but must ride in a group based on the age of the oldest rider on the team.  Team receives a "no time" if their crepe paper breaks, or either rider crosses the center line.

    Classes:  12 - 15
                     16 and over


Key Hole

Contestant proceeds across the starting line, through four poles marking a "key hole" entrance, turns right or left and retuns through the keyhole and across the finish line.  A five second penalty is added per pole knocked down.  Breaking pattern or crossing the center line receives "no time."


     Classes:  Under 12
                         12 - 15
                          16 and over


Flag Race

The rider races down to the end of the arena where there is a flag placed into a bucket of sand on top of a barrel.  He'/she may turn right or left around the barrel, at which time picking up the flag and racing back across the finish line.  The rider will receive a "no time" if the flag is dropped or the rider crosses the center line.

     Classes:  Under 12
                        12 - 15
                        16 and over


Relay Race

Consists of a team of four riders.  The first rider will start by holding a baton, he/she crosses the start line, rides down to the other end, turns left around a barrel, races back across the starting line, passes the baton to the second rider who then completes the same pattern and so one until all four riders have completed the course.  If a rider drops the baton behind the starting  line he/she may dismount and pick it up, then pass it to the next rider.  If the baton is dropped any time other than behind the starting line, or if any rider crosses the  center line or breaks pattern the team will receive a "no time."  Depending on the number of entries a rider may move up an age group if desired.  He/she must ride in a  group based on the age of the oldest rider.

     Classes:  12 -15
                      16 and over


Barrels:

Rider may go either right or left barrel first, but must make two left turns and one right ot two right turns and on left.  Five second penalty for knocking down a barrel.  Breaking pattern receives "no time."

     Classes:  Under 6
                        7 - 11
                      12 - 15
                      16 and over


Boot Race:

Rider will deliver their boots to the other end of the arena, where they'll be mixed up into one pile.  Riders then return to the starting line.  A signal will be given at which time all riders race down,  find and put on their boots, then run back leading their horse.  First person to cross the finish line, with boots on, wins.

     Classes:  Under 6
                        7 - 12
                       12 and over
