Lot 1- Beginner Rabbit
Lot 2- Intermediate Rabbit
(may enter one rabbit per lot)

Rabbit Agility is fairly new to the United States. It is a spin-off of rabbit hopping which started in Sweden in the 1970’s and made its way to the U.S. in 2001. Hopping takes a rabbit and handler through a series of jumps that require the rabbit to clear jumps of both height and distance and was modeled after horse show jumping. The first official Rabbit Hopping event hosted by the American Hopping Association of Rabbits and Cavies was held in 2011.

Rabbit agility has been gaining popularity over the last decade and not only has jumps that must be cleared, but other obstacles like those found in Dog Agility. These include weave poles, bridges, A-frames, teeter-totters, pause stations, open tunnels, and closed tunnels. The event is scored based on speed as well as accuracy and the winning rabbit may not always be the fastest one.

For the 2017 Montana Winter Fair, we will have 2 courses; a beginner course for the first time competitor and an intermediate course for the more experienced rabbit and handler. Our event is open to anyone with a rabbit who is interested in competing.
